SHU Student Vijay Tak Proudly Receiving the ICT Start-Up of the Year Award!

For over six months, Vijay Tak, a student in the Sacred Heart University Luxembourg MBA with Internship program, has been completing his compulsory internship at MyHippocrates, an enterprise by TheMarketsTrust, an innovative start-up based in Luxembourg. MyHippocrates is an all-in-one, cloud-based platform for Medical Data Management, including full EMR for doctors, patients access, and more.

It was great news for Vijay when “his” company was awarded the Start-Up of the Year 2015 Award at the 9th Luxembourg ICT Awards. The Luxembourg ICT awards are held every year at the IT One Gala where individuals and companies are recognized and awarded for their outstanding contribution to innovation in information technologies. Competitors are first selected by a jury of CIOs who evaluate their contribution to innovation. Winners are then decided through a vote by 50 IT executives in the fields of finance, services, industry, construction, trade, healthcare, logistics and government services.

Thanks to a background in IT and well-equipped with a fresh business acumen—acquired during his MBA studies at SHU Luxembourg—Vijay has become a valuable member of the MyHippocrates team. His hard work and dedication to his studies and internship were rewarded when Vijay was chosen as the MyHippocrates team member to receive the award on behalf of the entire winning team.

After graduation in May 2016, Vijay plans to stay in Luxembourg for at least another two years. The Luxembourg government grants all foreign students who’ve successfully completed their master’s degree an additional two years of residency within the Grand Duchy.

We wish him all the success in his already promising career!

SHU Luxembourg is currently recruiting students for the MBA with Internship program. This 16 month program is designed for young graduates from abroad and Luxembourg. It eases the entry for students without work experience into the professional life and facilitates career switches that young professionals may be contemplating. Students complete a six to nine month paid internship by day, and attend courses in the evenings.

SHU Investigates Absenteeism in the Workplace

Academic Research Project Drive, led by SHU Professor Marcus Mueller, is investigating the growing challenge of absenteeism in Luxembourg.AdobeStock_32026393_WM In co-operation with FEDIL, LuxCos were invited to a series of presentations outlining project objectives, methodology and benefits to companies.

Several companies have registered their interest so far. Data collection started in Oct 2015 with close to 2,000 Lux employees having filled out surveys (online + paper in three languages, En, Fr,De) so far.

For this project, SHU Luxembourg is collaborating with Sunshine Coast University (Australia), Universite de Trois Rivieres a Montreal in Canada, and, for the theoretical & methodological background, University of Rochester in the US.

First results including concrete directions for personal & organizational change and development not only targeting absenteeism but also  engagement, health and safety are expected for the end of 2016.

Media Awards 2016 • Congratulations to Sources Rosport and SHU Marketing Professor Max Weber!

Rosport took home the Gold at the Media Awards 2016, winning the 2016 Audience Award and the 1st place prize for each of the three categories it’s ad campaign “The Legend” was nominated for.

The winners of the 2016 Media Awards were announced on February 3rd at the “Media Awards Night 2016”, held at the Rockhal in Esch-Belval. The Media Awards were created jointly by Maison Moderne and RTL in 2014. The contest aims to reward and celebrate the best advertising creations in Luxembourg. There are 10 nominees for each of the 6 categories, plus 1 over all prize called “The Audience Award”. The categories include TV/Cinema, Radio, Internet, Press B2B, Cross-Media, and Heart stroke.

Source Rosport claimed the gold prize in TV/Cinema, Radio, and Cross-Media.
