July 17 – July 30, 2016: A Great Opportunity for Mind-Stretching Experiences
- Two Week In-class Summer Session
- 3 CH Elective Course in Contemporary Issues in Global Management
Our biannual two week seminar and cross-cultural experience for both Luxembourg and USA students will be based at SHU’s Graduate Center in Stamford, Connecticut, USA from July 17 through July 30, 2016.
This team-facilitated inter-disciplinary course, coordinated by Dr. Mary Trefry, will offer opportunities to explore connections in many facets of our world. We’ll discuss how human and technology-enabled connections affect people, organizations, geopolitics, innovation, interdependence of economies, competitive advantage – and much more. For example, we will explore how ‘big data’ analytics are helping to shape what organizations do, how social networking is changing the ways companies interface with their customers, as well as challenges presented when unknown others can affect a company’s reputation and companies can discover more than an employee or individual may want to have known.
Informal round-table dinners will offer opportunities to discuss interesting issues with executives. Several fascinating tours, including the New York Stock Exchange and IBM, will give us insight into how companies are influencing and managing such opportunities/challenges. Class sessions and social events will enable us to enrich our own global connections and friendships – and to hear perspectives that may be different from our own.
Plan also for an opening social event on Sunday, July 17 at 4:30 at the Stamford Sheraton Hotel, where our Luxembourg students will be staying. More details will be available in June but, in the meantime, please contact Alexandra Lewis (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like further information or have any questions.More Information
