Marcus B. Mueller, MBA, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Management, Sacred Heart University LuxembourgDr. Marcus B. Mueller is a full-time professor in the Department of Management at Sacred Heart University Luxembourg. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Saarbruecken, a Diploma in Business Administration from Manchester Business School, an MBA from Melbourne Business School, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia.

Prior to his full-time appointment at Sacred Heart University, he worked for 16 years in the finance industry in fields such as strategy, mergers and acquisitions, principal investments, and private equity for companies such as Arthur Andersen, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and Fortress Investments.

Marcus coordinates the integrated core courses and teaches courses in leadership, organizational behaviour, negotiations, and management in Luxembourg, as well as Fairfield. His research interests include leadership, motivation, performance, and health in organizations. Marcus’ scientific work has a particular focus on the psychology of senior executives. He recently founded ActSMART, the Academic Centre for Strategic Management Research and Training. ActSMART’s mission is to help increase organizational motivation, engagement, and health in support of individuals’ well-being, corporate performance, and societal welfare.

Since joining SHULU, Marcus has gained substantial experience in working with Luxembourg-based companies, start-ups and NGOs, including Luxair, Luxairport, Luxaviation, Luxinnovation, NoNailBoxes, Brasserie Nationale, SciPharm, Motion-S, Airbox Lab, ADA, Handicap International and the Red Cross.
